Catch-pit Suitability Calculation Request
When selecting a suitable catch-pit for use in the cess or 6ft there are several factors that must be considered.
The following parameters are site specific and will have an impact on the suitability of each catch-pit type:
- Buried Depth,
- Native Soil Type and Modulus (E'₃),
- Soil Density,
- Backfill class & compaction; Bed & Surround,
- Installation location (horizontal and vertical offset) relative to the running edge,
- Trench Width; typically MIN chamber External Width + 400mm for Network Rail schemes,
